2017 Tomodachi Summer Program

June 5th – August 11th

Tomodachi Summer Program
The Tomodachi Summer Program provides children entering Kindergarten through sixth grade with the opportunity to build new friendships and cultivate new interests.

*NEW* Tomodachi’s Club Day enrichment activities are held twice a week for two hours per day.  Club Days are offered in three week sessions for the optimum experience, but activities are flexible for those signing up one week at a time. This summer, participants will be asked to choose their Club Day choice during the registration process.  Check out the great choices below:

Arts: Jam packed with creative things to do, kids can learn the latest moves with Nagata Dance, find their voice as they write a story and bring it to life with the Asian American Acting Company* or develop an appreciation for reading as they build their own book! *Asian American Acting Company activity is for 3rd-6th grade only*

Culinary Arts: These clubs will feed their interest in food as kids will learn how to chop, measure and have fun in the kitchen by making yummy snacks that are healthy, too! They’ll also make and sample different cuisine from around the world and learn how to bake!

STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics…kids will experience hands-on learning in science exploration, get things to move and light up in the Electricity series and become mini engineers as they build bridges and other structures!

Sports: Kids will learn the basic fundamentals and rules of the game while also learning about sportsmanship through fun drills and games!

Participants will also visit local parks, enjoy Japanese cultural enrichment workshops and have fun on field trips in and outside of San Francisco.

Tomodachi Summer Teen Program
The Summer Teen Group program provides middle school aged youth with fun and challenging experiences to support their personal growth. The teens participate in recreational activities, including camping, deep sea fishing and water slides. Participants will also develop their leadership skills by assisting Tomodachi Summer Program Youth Leaders and attending personal development workshops.
